Dulwich, fashionable residential neighbourhood in the Greater London borough of Southwark, part of the historic county of Surrey. It lies in the southern part of the borough and is centred on Dulwich College.

Dulwich College was founded by Edward Alleyn on June 21st 1619, with letters patent from King James I. This magnificent document with the Great Seal of England still survives. Alleyn was an actor and an entrepreneur in the world of Elizabethan and Jacobean theatre, a colourful and famous figure of his day.

Dulwich is absolutely lovely. I’ve been living here since 2012 after renting a place as a compromise between my and my flatmate’s commute, then liking it so much I bought a flat in the same block. It’s surrounded by a lot of areas people get nervous about (Brixton, Peckham, Camberwell, etc.)
