How long is the boat trip from Westminster to Hampton Court?
The river trip from Westminster to Hampton Court is unique. At 35 kilometres (22 miles) one-way, it is the longest regular scheduled boat service available from London.
Can you get to Hampton Court by boat?
One of the most pleasurable ways to get to Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is to arrive by boat. You can take the boat service from Richmond or Kingston (5 mins walk from either train or bus station). Or if arriving by train, you can take the shuttle boat from Hampton Court station.

You can use contactless ( card or device) or an Oyster card on the River Bus service operated by Thames Clippers. Touch in at the start of your journey and touch out at the end on the yellow card readers, and when changing boats, to pay the right fare.

How long do you need at Hampton Court?
A minimum stay would be 3 hours, but to take in all the palace plan on maybe twice as long. We went there on our own, so weren’t part of a tour. It’s an individual choice, but we found it quite easy to take the Tube to Paddington Station, then get the train to Hampton Court.

Pollution on the River Thames. The River Thames is the cleanest river in the world that flows through a major city. This is a major feat considering that fifty years ago the river was so polluted that it was declared biologically dead. Sewage was being discharged directly into the Thames.
Is Hampton Court Palace worth visiting?
Yes Hampton Court is worth it. For other less visited sites, visit The British War Museum for WWI and WWII. If you like Turner, Henry Moore, or The Pre Raphealites, Tate Bririan is well worth the trip.
