It lies on the River Thames and is 9.9 miles (15.9 km) west-southwest of Charing Cross, 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of Hounslow, and 2.6 miles (4.2 km) northwest of Kingston upon Thames. Twickenham is the administrative headquarters and the largest town in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
